She wandered deeper into the forest. She was not afraid. She was a Mare of Diomedes. She felt the scent of her prey float into her nares. She quickened her pace, galloping through the land, dodging the trees blocking her path. Morterra 's golden orbs locked onto the foolish animal who had strayed across her path. She lunged at it's throat, ripping it to shreds. it was dead before it hit the ground. She fed quickly, leting the blood drip down her maw and across her neck. She left the carcass and waded through a stream to the land of the goddess. Morterra felt at home here, she knew this was her place. She had heard that the goddess, Afriel, the one who had created her, had mares such as herself guarding her home. She was sick of wandering. She hoped Afriel would accept one of her own creations. She let her hoofs lead her, not knowing where she was. Tossing her crimson head she stopped and looked about her. Morterra's safron optics searched about her impatiently. Where was everyone?

A goddess who was rarely seen was walking in the sanctus dominatio, knowing exactly who resided here. After all, Afriel had created her all that time ago. Back when she'd still been creating. But it could be said Fortis Procella was a mistake for she was less than the kindest of goddesses. Two-toned mare was calm, though she probably should not have been. Her eyes, blood red, shone though they were covered by a cold ice. The ice that warded others from her mind. Few could read Fortis Procella by anything but the weather, for she had a certain control over the skies. In a good mood she would not call on the storm clouds and when i a disasterous mood and full storm would rage in whatever area she was. That day only a slight grey scattering of clouds had appeared. Afriel would know she was here. Deep in the forest it was dark, and she knew those wretched mares would be here somewhere, but she had her methods of defense. She could make another cry and beg for mercy. But she wouldn't do that to Afriel's mares. Not when she had a favour to ask. She wanted an alliance, of types, with the goddess' herd.

Blurred silver shimmered between the trees, threads of crimson flowed behind like water. Running. The movement never ceased to thrill her. Even as a goddess, the mother of all that was to be exact, she could feel that emotion. Breathing evenly she slid to a stop, damp leaves fluttering in the air, stillness taking over as an effect of the abcense of hoofbeats.
Front end lifted, head raised as high as it could go, nares expanding, pulling in the scents of her home. The red, mist-filled forests. As always, she could find a trace of the irony scent that was blood. To a mortal, the scent was unnoticable. Being immortal not only brought everlasting life, but heightened senses.
There was a disturbance in her soul. That meant only one of two things. An equine had died and come to be judged. Or, there was an intruder. The goddess smelled again. Two. They were not mortal- and they were not dead. So, two immortals. Afriel doubted it was one of the first three. Most likely a wraith.. or a rogue Diomedes. Perhaps even another god or goddess.
Chilling laughter echoed in the quiet, shaking the birds from their trees. Afriel walked slowly, taking her time. Even if they hadn't been immortals, they would have to wait for her to come to them at her own pace.
Stopping on a rocky ledge, she could see two figures. One, she could determine, was a goddess. A lower deity, but a goddess nonetheless. The other, a Diomedes. There was no mistaking her for anything but.
Without having to concentrate, the goddess lifted a rather large boulder with her mind and smashed it into a tree between the pair. They were both a good distance apart from each other, but they were sure to notice it. It was almost too quiet in the forest for even a mortal to not hear it. Her expression was a mask of neutrality, waiting for them to state their reasons for coming to her.

Morterra walked slowly, deeper and deeper into the goddess' land. She knew mares such as herself roamed theses lands, guarding her creator. She smelled something now. Not the scent of her usual prey. A more refined scent. A goddess no doubt. She stopped in her tracks. She didn't think it was Afriel. Morterra would know when her god approached her. She called into the forest, calling for any of her sisters. They would hopefully take her to their mistress. She would not want to wander theses lands without being accepted.
She snarled. Behind her, rubble from the remains of a large boulder fell like hail from a tree behind her. She cautiously walked toward the scene, flicking her violet optics around her. That rock didn't come falling out of the sky. She looked up, through the foliage o the forest. Or did it? She looked around for the goddess she had smelt. The scent was stronger now. But she smelled something else now. a sweet scent that made her want to fall to her knees. Afriel was here somewhere.
She stood in the midst of the rocks looking around her for her mistress. Morterra let out a soft whinny, hoping she would come, if she was not already. She saw through the trees the goddess. her tri-color coat shone in the evening light. She waited for her to come. No one could have not heard that noise.

Piebald ess was little more than a foal when you considered she could live forever. One of the lesser known godesses, less powerful than Afriel and her three boys. But still powerful, a real force to reckon with. The stories of her doings were not unknown now, the mortals spoke of her with fear. She was the terrible creature that would not let you cross her and yet was easy to please. A single sign of cowardiceor idiocity and you were done with. She'd kill you, one way or another. Why? Well, she claimed to be cleansing the world. Pools of blood glinted as she walked through tiny patches of light penetrating the great canopy, her tassel snapping at her rump, white and black strands whiplike, the noise a loud crack each time they fell upon her skin. But this was all for reaso. She wanted Afriel to know her presence, for she would, but also to know she was not trying to sneak. She did not come here with harm in mind. She came here to seek peace. A large crash made audits turn and head gracefully turn as she stopped, soft smile (not the terrible smirk that could twist her features into a mask of horror) gracing her features and enhancing her natural beauty. Her gait was one of grace as she walked a few more steps, seeing the boulder and nodding. "Talis vis Afriel , est is vere necesse? Secundum totus , EGO adveho per nusquam tamen pacis in mens. Secundum totus , illic est haud infirmitas in illa terra qua tantum dignus roam." She spoke gracefully, her voice like a song. The Fortis that Afriel had known in her youth, before the stories of Ferinus had corrupted her mind. Before she had turned to killing and torture, her powers now more than tools to frighten but tools to hurt. Yes, Afriel would have heard what had come of the once soft Fortis Procella and she probably did not like it. Therefore, Fortis knew well of the dangers of coming here and was more than expecting to be driven away. She was no longer pure- why would Afriel stand for her presence for more than a minute?

"Such violence, Afriel, is it really necessary? After all, I come with nothing but peace in mind. After all, there is no weakness in these lands where only the worthy roam." Ignoring the goddess' comment for a moment she called to Morterra, "I am up here." Breathing evenly she looked back down on Fortis, hiding her displeasure. "I will not bother speaking to you in the sacred language." The goddess only spoke it in the prescence of those worthy. She didn't care if Fortis spoke it among others, but with the goddess herself, she would not. "It is less than that of which you show others." She 'raised a brow', and crimson hued tail fluttered in a passing breeze. "I believe my lands have been tainted as of late."
"Morterra, why have you come? I believe I know Fortis' motives." She smiled softly for a moment while studying Morterra from up on her ledge. A shrill cry rang out in the stillness. A diomedes was pursuing a mortal, and Afriel could sense the goodness of the mortal's soul. The forest grew dark, and there was a loud rumble and another cry. The Diomedes mourned the loss of her prey and the mortal escaped to the lands where their kind belonged.

The cherry colored mare stood quietly as the piebald goddess spoke. She looked rather untrustworthy, at least Morterra thought. Looking up at another voice, Morterra saw Afriel. She bowed her head when she spoke to her. I had heard that my sisters guarded these lands, and hoped you would welcome me here to join them. Morterra looked up, seeing the alabaster goddess on a cliff above them. She was more beautiful than she imagined. Her blood red mane and tail looked as if they were dipped in ink. The light seeping in through the leaves of the trees seemed to iluminate her whole body. Her eyes, icy orbs that were watching her, they saw all. Morterra knew she could not hide anything from her. She looked over at thegoddess Afriel had called Fortis. Afriel seemed not to like her very much. Morterra knew Afriel could get rid of her in an instant, but she wanted to show her loyalty. She let a low growl escape her maw, letting her moon washed fangs show. My Lady, if you do not want this mare here, i could, em, dispose of her for you. She looked at fortis with displeasure. She didn't look too tough, but you could never know with gods.

Fortis Procella was almost deadly calm and not even slightly afraid of the mares she knew guarded these lands. In fact, the only here who she feared was the goddess herself, but Afriel was sure to remember that from years ago. All Fortis wanted was a truce- she'd stop the killing spree in return for a favour. She needed to know an identity from the goddess and, for it, loyalty would, at least temporarily, be held by Afriel. But everyone who knew Fortis knew her downfall, it was not even something she cared to deny. Fortis was soft only of those strong Ignis stallions but her heart belonged to Ferinus and she knew as well as any other his would not be returned. But still she lived in hope of one day being able to help him, but for now she had a promise to keep. See, Fortis might have looked untrustworthy at that time but those who knew her knew well she had never, and would never, turned her back on a promise. She had pride and spirit, her hatreds deep running and her methods less than kind, but she was not truly bad. She was just twisted by events which could be called unfortunate. She hoped Afriel could only see that from her perch so high up. But the mare was pushing her luck, this carnivore. But she, like the others didn't scare her. She actually somewhat amused her. If she had any idea with whom she dealt she would not be so quick to judge her own abilities for those of Fortis Procella were little kown. She could turn the mare's world upside down. It was near impossible to avoid her stronger defenses, of which two had high places in her mind. Black velvet was her favourite for dealing with annoyances, rather than enemies. It was fun, for her at least. Chuckle escaped her lips, a soft and almost meoldic sound. "Now, now Morterra. Stay calm. Or perhaps I'll have to calm you down. Let the goddess deal with me when she has time. I have only a question for her." She spoke with dignity, no malice. It was merely a warning that she would not stand there and let the mare attack her. She was better equipped than that, far better epuipped. She snorted and looked to Afriel. "Fiery, isn't she?" she spoke to the goddess politely. "Quite a joy, I'm sure."

"I had heard that my sisters guarded these lands, and hoped you would welcome me here to join them." The goddess smiled and nodded, "Of course. I am always happy to welcome another member to our family." It was interesting how all the Diomedes seemed to be.. called to her lands. Some felt that a life in Sanctus Dominatio meant one of sevitude, but it was actually Afriel who acted as a servant. She gave her daughters everything they needed and almost everything they wanted. Those who refused her offer could never fulfill themselves as they wished. The call was practically a part of their being.. their essence. It pleased the goddess when they fulfilled themselves.
"My Lady, if you do not want this mare here, I could, em, dispose of her for you." Amusement flickered across the face of the goddess, silver eyes shimmering. "Now, now Morterra. Stay calm. Or perhaps I'll have to calm you down. Let the goddess deal with me when she has time. I have only a question for her." At this all amusement vanished. "She is a goddess. There is nothing you can do to remove her."
"Fiery, isn't she?" The creator could sense the more polite tone, but cared whether it was forced or not. Afriel was not pleased with Fortis, and yet she couldn't bring herself to force her out of her lands. She wanted to see how far this goddess would go to get what she wanted. "Quite a joy, I'm sure." The goddess snorted, crimson mane covering her face, eyes glowing and still visible between the strands. "Yes, yes.. Now what is it you want Fortis? I have no time to waste with your flattery." It was true that the femme was immortal, but that didn't mean she did not have things to do. She had three unruly creations on her hand and she knew of Fortis' near obsession with Ferinus. Afriel was quite sure that anything she said or promised would eventually mean nothing and Fortis would turn against her. Just like the others.

The 'fiery' mare as fortis had called her, blushed at her ignorance, but bared her fangs at the unwanted goddess as she backed up into the shadows of the trees, reappearing next to Afriel instead of Fortis. She watched them quietly, wondering what Fortis had done to make herself unwanted in afriel's domain. As far as Morterra could tell, she was a kind goddess, though the diomedes was sure she could be cruel at times. She would have no control over her creatures if she wasn't. She looked up at the goddess above her bowing her head in respect. Thank you for accepting me here. She had no respect for most of the other creatures in this world, but Afriel had created her, She didn't respect her because she had to but she actually wanted to, which was rare with Morterra. She stared coldly at Fortis, as Afriel had called her. She wished she was a goddess. then she could get rid of her. She looked down, thinking of how foolish she had sounded earlier. 'Um, I could dispose of her for you.'She quietly mocked herself, wondering if afriel could hear what she was thinking. What was she thinking before? Did she want to die?

Duo-colored sphinx certainly was not impressed with Afriel's little mare. No, it was no good trying to stand up to her like that. After all, it hadn't even been her battle and she had not even thought about her words before speaking. Foolishness. Fortis hated fools and now the mare had fallen among their ranks it was contempt, not hatred, that she felt for her. If she had her way the little mare would not be acting quite so tough, not at all. If she had her way in the world fools would all be killed for they spoiled bloodlines. Red pools settled upon the diomedes and tassel snapped against her rump like a whip, the cracking sound it produced nothing a mere mortal could cause. But she wouldn't hurt the mare, or anything close. She'd just tell herself she wasn't worth it and, the truth ws, she wasn't. She was just another toy of Afriel's. At least she had not lost control of these ones like she had the gods, like she had Ferinus. Oh that god did serve as a force to impress. His power like a drug, a siren calling her in. No, never had she met him but she planned to. One day, she planned to. But she would wait until she and Nex had built at least a small herd to even consider walking upon his lands and offering to he and his herd the services of her own. But none of it could go ahead. None at all. Not until she had fulfilled the wraith's one wish. Her betan and friend. The only one who, in recent years, had managed to get close to the cold spirited minx and survive. Of course, such was the way of the wraith but most of those avoided her. "Oh but Afriel, you do not understand. I am not here to upset you, or your members. I only have a simple question and then I will leave you," she paused, eyes flicking over the diomedes again, "and your stooge behind. Our small disagreement, of course, forgotten." she was lacing her words with magic, magic which would calm and soothe any feelings. She was, after all, known for her scary power in such things. To calm one enough to make them walk into their own deaths, even. She flicked the folock from her eyes, blood pools gleaming in the light, the darkness engulfing her black markings and leaving only the white and the pools so red, to shine. She took a few steps forward, powerful and menacing steps, steps laced with an intoxicating grace, her carriage magnificent, muscles rippling beneath her pelt. "My question, goddess, creator of all is simple." more steps forward, able to make it up the cliff without a problem but not planning it. "Though I would prefer to ask it eye to eye, if you catch my drift." not a sound of a threat, just the soft laced voice which had once belonged to a creature angelic, now turned demonic. "Is it so much to ask one which was once a friend to come and look me in the eyes, really, Afriel?" a hint of fake sorrow mixed in. "It is but a simple question, please come down goddess."

The goddess turned her head slightly as the Diomedes now stood behind her. "Thank you for accepting me here." "You are most welcome," she spoke softly, unsmiling. It was Fortis' voice that brought her head back to look coldly upon the other goddess. 'Um, I could dispose of her for you.' The voice echoed in her mind, and the goddess easily recognized it as Morterra's, but she said nothing.. hoping she would understand the goddess would give her as much privacy as was safe.
"Oh but Afriel, you do not understand. I am not here to upset you, or your members. I only have a simple question and then I will leave you." Goddess 'raised a brow'. "and your stooge behind. Our small disagreement, of course, forgotten." Unimpressed, Afriel nodded ever so slightly. Then she felt it. The fool was actually trying to use her powers against the very one who had given them to her? Fury dug its talons into Afriel's very being, daring her to let herself unleash all she was holding back.. and to destroy the so called 'goddess'. With amazing calm and cool, she collected her thoughts, not allowing to let her emotions get in the way. Surely the Diomedes would be affected, but Afriel was above Fortis.
"My question, goddess, creator of all is simple." Simple? Nothing Fortis wanted was simple. "Though I would prefer to ask it eye to eye, if you catch my drift."
"Is it so much to ask one which was once a friend to come and look me in the eyes, really, Afriel?" Afriel ignored the 'emotions' Fortis let seep into her words, a twinge of disgust shuddering down her spine. "It is but a simple question, please come down goddess." Crimson tail flicked back and forth, silver eyes boring into Fortis'. She took her time, waiting a few moments before the rock she was standing on was forced back into the earth until level with the ground upon which Fortis stood upon. The goddess was careful and had made sure Morterra would not be harmed and she let the rock and foiliage back to its original place.
"As you wish." The cold, unwelcoming silver orbs continued to pierce Fortis', though she knew that the other would not show fear or anything remotely close.. not as long as her wishes and existence were unthreatened. "Old friend."

The diomedes watched quietly as Fortis spoke. Why had the goddess come now? All Morterra had wanted was simply to be welcome here, but as she was now remembering, nothing here was that easy. She stared, disgusted, at Fortis. She felt her magic intertwined with her words. Her body was relaxed, but her mind was racing. It wasn't like Morterra could hurt this goddess and afriel had given her those powers, how could they affect her? She moved her violet daggers away from Afriel, letting her descend to Fortis' height. She let her proud head fall humbly to the ground. She felt weak, useless. Her whole purpose in life felt meaningless now. She lived for power, for control. Her needs were not complicated. She wanted a stallion, a land, and to be on the top of the food chain. Of course, she would always be below Afriel, but the Diomedes could not ask for more. She knew such things could be bought, but for what price? She had nothing to offer. Her service in these lands gaurding her Lady was all she could give. She lifted a hoof gently, testing her control over her body. She did not feel Fortis keeping her here. She wanted no more of this. Only to feed did she want. It gave her thet sense of power she had lost a few minutes ago. With a heavy heart and an absent mind, the Mare of Diomedes slinked back into the night, back to where she belonged, back to her kind. Her awful, helpless powerless kind. Duo-toned mare knew what she was doing. By making Afriel coming to her she was, in a way, gaining power and everyone knew how Fortis liked to feel powerful. Not that she'd always been that way but because her obsession with Ferinus was like a poison. It had poisoned a once content, good mare into one of lust and need. She needed to feel powerful for it was the only way that she could see to gain the attention of Ferinus. If she got powerful enough he'd have to take some notice, he'd have no choice. She was a rising star, a powerful creature, one of Afriel's younger creations and yet another over which Afriel had lost control. Noone could deny that and, it was sad to say, that unless Ferinus came back under control Fortis would not. Her tassel snapped as she watched the lands on which the goddess stood start to lower, the cliff then level with the ground. She watched as the odd femme, the mare she had called Afriel's stooge, slunk away and felt good for it. She could do without that particular annoyance After all, she had come for one thing and one thing only and the only one who could provide the answers she needed was Afriel herself for she was sure the great goddess kept track of who, and what, travelled upon this earth. Those eyes of silver, cold and unwelcoming, did not cause Fortis to fear or anything else. Not a sign showed on her features that she felt anything simply because she didn't. She was more than used to the goddess and her eyes, having spent years beside er at the begining. Until she caught that glimpse of Ferinus on the fateful day that changed her. But she'd never told Afriel she'd seen him, she hadn't told anyone. "I have only a question for you, old friend." she'd keep repeating it, for it was a stark reminder to the goddess that she'd once held control. "A question for which I have searched hard for an answer but, alas, it seems only you can give it." she paused, her tassel snapping at her rump. "I need to know if there is a stallion in existance with only a small amount of wraith within his blood, but the wraith must be there." she told the grey. "So I came to ask if you know any?"

The goddess would have frowned as she watched Morterra walk away, but she wouldn't dare give Fortis the pleasure. The wretched goddess' voice sounded again and Afriel looked back to her. "I have only a question for you, old friend." 'Old friend' she continued to repeat, obviously trying to insult the silver femme in some manner. Perhaps only because she disliked her? Or that she thought Afriel had no control over her either? Her mind ranf with laughter. When all three gods were finally destroyed, Fortis would be next. Afriel would make it satisfying for her and painful for the once brilliant goddess. She would perish, her death lasting weeks, months, years. Oh no. Fortis Procella would suffer for eternity.
Whispers of Fortis' thoughts reached Afriel, but she ignored them, preferring to give Fortis a fair chance at surprising her. "A question for which I have searched hard for an answer but, alas, it seems only you can give it. I need to know if there is a stallion in existance with only a small amount of wraith within his blood, but the wraith must be there. So I came to ask if you know any?" The goddess surely would have laughed if Fortis had not looked so serious. How worthless of a goddess she must be if she cannot even find a simple creature.
"And why, old friend," she spoke the latter slowly, making sure Fortis understood the hell that would be paid because of her betrayl. "could you not find such a being yourself? Surely your spies reach the four corners of the world? But, perhaps you have fallen out of power and now linger among the lowest deities, no one remembering your name? What is it Fortis that has pulled you so low?" She eyed the other goddess in silence for a moment. "Ah, but I already know. You are in love with Ferinus." She laughed as she spoke. "Do you think he would love something as lowly as you?" Afriel chuckled darkly. "But nevermind. Why should I tell you where this being is if he exists?"
