Read notes below before replying. Your character must kill Anima.
You've stripped me down, the layers fall like rain it's over now, just innocence and instinct still remain You watched me while I slowly disappeared I reached for you to save me; you were frozen in your fear
It wasn't unusual for an Ignis to wander the desert, but it wasn't that common either. A common misconception of her breed; Ignis means fire, therefore they are able to manifest fire or other things similar. Any who thought that were wrong, but it also had some truth to it. Only some, mind you. Heck, Anima preferred water to fire any day. Not that fire didn't have a wild beauty about it, but water calmed her, brought peace and healing. Fire destroyed. Then again, water could destroy too. Perhaps they were more similar than Anima realized.
The mare huffed quietly, stepping quietly over a random bunch of sticks and rocks, silver eyes locking onto a tree nearby. Shade, was her only thought then. She cantered over, the air inside her lungs leaving in a relieved sigh. Her thick mane kept so much heat close to her body, and the black color didn't help any. Her coat, slickened by the thin layer of sweat, looked damp and dark, and she could feel it leaving her body. The heat of it disgusted her. What she wouldn't give to be in the mountains now! But here, maybe she would have a better chance at being watched over by her god.
"Ferinus," the word tumbled from her lips hungrily, like a starved wolf before a lamb. "Rid mihi illae deus-relinquo estus." Silver eyes focoused on a scorpion scuttling along the same cluster of stones she had stepped over, several following the creature as it moved away from a dark opening. The mare nearly snarled, swinging her lithe frame around to face them completely. "Damno creatura. Ego mos iuguolo vos." One stopped, faced her for a moment, then went off, disappearing into another rock pile. Anima snorted, the dust from her movement still floating around her, motionless as she watched the others crawl into other rock formations.
Scorpions weren't much to worry about if you saw them quick enough and could get away. They aren't as fast as a horse anyway. It's not like they could follow, hunting you down until you collasped. Anima turned away from the tree, the direction the scorpions had gone, and away from the shade.
The desert was a cruel place, but it had yet to deprive Anima of water. Yes, it was hard to find water, but so far she had managed to find enough to survive. Perhaps the desert was better than the mountains. Of course she'd have plenty of water, but it would be hard to find shelter from the constant cold. She would freeze to death. Besides, her former.. herd members would look for her there. This was a better place to hide. Running and hiding wasn't something she did.. not doing so would cost her life right now, and as long as she stayed away; she would make it, and perhaps gain enough power to take her revenge on them. Why? Ah, well, you can't know everything right away, eh?
The roan huffed, walking steadily, trying to ignore the fur-dampening sweat, and the sun heating it. Being able to feel the sweat evaporating off your skin made her twitch and shy sideways. Overreaction? Perhaps, but no one was here to see it, and Anima would do as she pleased. "This is unbearable!" She shrieked angrily, sliding to a halt, the sand sticking to her sweat soaked pelt.

Thunder rolled in the skies and lightning flashed, a storm suddenly blowing in, though no rain fell. The skies clouded, and then sun could no longer shine and so the darkness fell across the land, so deep it was difficult to see. Through the storm walked a little known goddess with a heart as cold as stone to most. She loved many of the ignis breed, but a few had managed to upset her, and they had to worry about what she may do. After all, Fortis was not known for being forgiving. The tri-colored mare trotted along, almost gliding her gait was so smooth, her head held high in pride. Her tassel flicked as she moved, without a problem, through these lands. The storm, which only affected this area, had been summoned by her. Any who knew of her would know what it meant- a cruel goddess was on her way. As she moved along, almost silent, she heard a voice and snickered. The mare probably didn't know of her, but the goddess had heard much about Anima. This particular mare had done nothing to upset the goddess yet, but it would not take the goddess long to find a reason to kill. After all, she'd been growing bored recently... That, and Nex would be hungry. Still snickering, the goddess silently moved behind the mare, snorting so a jet of warm air fell onto the mare's coat. "Anima Levitas, what is it you are doing out here alone? Anyone would think you are trying to kill yourself."

"Anima Levitas, what is it you are doing out here alone? Anyone would think you are trying to kill yourself." The mare tensed, ears flicking towards the voice. It could easily be one of her herd.. one that would take her back and try to get the others to kill her their way instead of the way the rest of the herd wanted to.
"I'm doing quite the opposite actually." She spoke, facing the stranger. Instantly she relaxed. It wasn't one of them, but how did this mare know her name? Well, there was no mistaking a goddess. She dipped her head slightly in respect after hesitating. Did this goddes deserve respect? "You must be a pretty worthless goddess if I've never heard your name before." She smiled sweetly, bowing mockingly. Oh how the fae had craved to tease a deity, but none had ever had the guts to appear to her. Then again, what did they have to be afraid of? One thought of theirs could kill her if they were powerful enough, and she wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

The mare before her was in a pitiful state. What had she done to get here? Fortis could do many things, but read minds was not one of them. She could not delve into the pasts of others, though she often wished that she could. It would be so much easier to understand others if she could do that. Maybe one day she'd master such a skill. After all, she had many years to practice. "I'm doing quite the opposite actually." Fortis rolled her eyes, putting meaning to that one. After all, this mare was just one of those breeds. There was always arguing, always deaths to be paid. Yes, if she wasn't trying to kill herself she was running from death. How pitiful. "Then you must be running from death. Tell me, who is it that seeks to kill you? What did you do wrong? There is always a reason behind it." she stated, cold as she was slowly putting this mare in the category of cowards. Fortis hated cowards almost as much as she hated fools... Just not quite so much. Still, there wasn't much in it. "You must be a pretty worthless goddess if I've never heard your name before." Fortis snorted, already getting agitated with the mare. Yes, she'd make a good meal for Nex, and any others that wished to feed on the corpse once she was done with it. After all, she wasn't forgiving, and this mare had just overstepped the marker. Angry she stared at the mare and smirked coldly. "You just made a mistake, Levitas." she stated as she focused, using her power of blood fire, but only weakly, so it would not course through the body too fast. Still, the mare would soon start to feel a burning sensation within her veins.

"Then you must be running from death. Tell me, who is it that seeks to kill you? What did you do wrong? There is always a reason behind it." She laughed, shaking her head slowly as if the goddess would never be able to understand. "I am wrongly accused of killing another equine. He tried to force me so I ran, knowing if I killed him there'd be hell to pay. But my suitor killed him, and they blamed me the damned fools." She shifted, eyeing her carefully.
"You just made a mistake, Levitas." "Oh, I'm sure I did your highness.. You-" The burning started slowly, almost too faint to tell, but she could feel it. The pain increased as it grew slightly stronger, coursing through her body like wildfire. "You! What-" she gasped at the pain, staggering backwards. "What is this?!" It was unlikely the goddess would tell her.. unless she wanted to explain and horrify the burning mare.

Afriel watched the mare with eyes intent, the red catching the light making them look ever more like pools of blood. There was a cold glint within them, powerful and cruel. It spoke of terrors, and of lust. Lust for power. Lust to be recognised. Her work, and word of it, would be spread far and wide. "I am wrongly accused of killing another equine. He tried to force me so I ran, knowing if I killed him there'd be hell to pay. But my suitor killed him, and they blamed me the damned fools." Fortis' eyes rolled back her head raising, her laugh cold and cruel. "Oh, my dear, why does it sound as though you should have made the correct alliances before any of this happened? Myself, Ferinus, there are many who would have been willing to help you. But you left it too late. You will die, one way or another." How sure she sounded, her voice cold but scarily calm as she glanced around. Nex... It will be time to feast soon. I hope you are not too far away. she thought as her eyes grazed over the mare. So close to death yet she hadn't even realised it. "Oh, I'm sure I did your highness.. You-" She laughed coldly as the mare stopped mid sentence, the searing pain ripping through her now, her blood slowly being ridded of those all-important red blood cells. Slowly, ever so slowly, the mare would suffocate. After all, noone could live without oxygen. "You! What-" A cold snicker escaped her mug, eyes gleaming as she saw the pain in the mare's face. Her eyes gave it away. But she had been foolish. She had crossed the wrong mare. "What is this?!" "What is this? This, my dear, is what makes you wish you'd let your herd kill you." she said, upping the power a pinch, the fire moving slightly more quickly now.

But you left it too late. You will die, one way or another." Anima snorted, shaking her head and grinning. Why would she seek out the help of a deity? The gods and goddess were having their own issues.
Breathing was slowly becoming harder, and the burning increasing. She backed up more, jumping up slightly, but that only brought weakness.. lack of oxygen making her woozy, but she couldn't faint. She cried out, smashing herself down onto the ground and rolled. Head was raised and she brought it down harshly onto the ground, but it wasn't hard enough to do any real damage. "All this-" she gasped, "over one-" her eyes closed for a moment before she opened them. "-insult?" She writhed on the ground before struggling to get to her hooves. Eyes narrowed, and she shook involuntarily, trying to ignore the immense pain.. but it was futile. The fierry feeling burned even worse, legs shaking beneath her, but she stood her ground, glaring at the goddess.

The mare was in agony and Fortis was gleeful. Oh, how she loved causing pain. How she loved making them suffer. Those that did right were rewarded, but those were few and far between and others, like this one, suffered terribly for crimes against her. Most equines just get left alone... Until she got bored, at least. Before her the mare was pathetically trying to kill herself so the pain would stop. In a good mood, Fortis may have quickened the work of her magic, or made it stop altogether, but she was not over with this ess yet. Throwing insults to her was not a clever thing to do. "All this over one insult?" Fortis snorted. "You think I am so petty, silly mare. This is over far more than that. You and the others, thinking they rule the world, you need reminding that you are not as strong as you think. Plus, my wraith is getting hungry. She's been waiting for a while, you know." she laughed, mocking the mare's suffering. "You just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and managed to upset me to. Yes, Nex will enjoy your carcus." she laughed. "Nex, I know you're out there somewhere." she whispered, throwing a last glance at the writhing figure, which sped the process up alot. Soon, the mare would be taking her last breaths, speaking her last words.

"You think I am so petty, silly mare. This is over far more than that. You and the others, thinking they rule the world, you need reminding that you are not as strong as you think. Plus, my wraith is getting hungry. She's been waiting for a while, you know." Anima swayed, falling back to the ground, her right side exploding in pain. The pain was so indescribable, and all Anima could do was scream, writhe, and burn.
"You just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and managed to upset me to. Yes, Nex will enjoy your carcus." Fear overtook the roan, and she cried out, horrified at the thought of being eaten.. her flesh torn from bone and being broken down in the stomach of a wraith. Again, the sensations of pain grew, and more pain as a result of virtually no oxygen replenishing her system. Now she welcomed the thought of being eaten, and hopefully the creature would come before this magic killed her.
The mare tried to gasp, but only dry heaved, unable to pull the gas into her system. She laid her head on the sand, eyes dull and lifeless. She was not dead completely.. Even without breathing she could feel what the goddess' magic had done to her. She felt as though all her body had been destroyed. Obliterated by the fire, and now, all that was left were ashes inside a sweat coated carcass. Body had been too long deprived of oxygen, and Anima, as the world knew her, ceased to roam the earth.

"My wraith?" Came a sliken voice, black bodice carried over to the pair on long, feathered legs. Nex laughed, grinning as she stared down at the body. Sighing, she looked back at Fortis, smile still visible, but faint. "Your name is becoming very well-known. I have been quite successful with my.. work." The smile grew, but died away as she glanced down at the corpse. Hunger filled her, and she had to look away to keep herself composed. She hadn't had to kill many other equines while 'working' for Fortis, and the ones she had.. she left to their families.

The eyes of the goddess gleamed happilly as she watched the one her magic worked on slowly fade. Life draining from another being was a favorite thing to watch for her. Especially when the one she was killing had upset her in some way. The unforgiving mare enjoyed revenge, it tasted sweet in her mouth. The mare stopped breathing and smile spread across the tri-coloured's face as she flanced around. "You can show yourself now Nex. Only imaginings of you and not real images of you were within her mind when she passed." she spoke softly as, with the wraith, she did not need to speak in a commanding or loud tone. The wraith would have heard her earlier whisper to her from miles away. As if by magic, the wraith appeared not seconds later. "My wraith?" The voice made the goddess' smile change from one of manic cruelty to a softer, friendly one. "I'm sure you understand, Nex, that it is the only way for them to understand one will really show up. They see wraiths as tools for dieties. You, Nex, are my friend and advisor. My Betan. My number two. You are closer to me than any other. I would never sincerely call you mine, unless it was to call you a friend." she ensured the ess. "Your name is becoming very well-known. I have been quite successful with my.. work." Smile spread cross her features, though she frowned as the wraith's disappeared. "Nex... She has no family that cares. Her herd wanted her dead." she told the mare the truth from what she knew.

"I'm sure you understand, Nex, that it is the only way for them to understand one will really show up. They see wraiths as tools for deities. You, Nex, are my friend and advisor. My Betan. My number two. You are closer to me than any other. I would never sincerely call you mine, unless it was to call you a friend." Demoness nodded, tail fluttering about, mane moving over the mare's well-muscled neck, nostrils flaring. "Of course I understand." She smiled, looking back to the goddess. "It is in my nature to understand the ways of the gods and goddess." Snorting as if she found the thought humorous, and looked back to the body. "But that is not always true."
"Nex... She has no family that cares. Her herd wanted her dead." The wraith nodded absentmindedly, still staring at the lonely figure, the pain still visible in her dull eyes. If she had killed her, she probably would've laughed.. but done it quickly before her hunger blinded her and she ate her alive. A small smirk tugged at the corners of her mouth. "All the worse for her. I wonder what Ferinus will say when she arrives before him for judgment." Head turned back again so she could make eye contact with the deity, body aching for the nourishment, but the wraith knew how to control most of the urges. Looking fairly calm, she watched as another figure moved along the horizon. It was very likely it was the mare's spirit.. as at times the wraith saw the sprits of those she had hunted and killed.
