In these mountains, the tension in the air was thick, the knowing possibility of an avalanch at almost any minute had shivered a fear inside Poseidon. He would not be able to out run such a fast amount of natures furry. Big he was, yes. But fast, now that was something he never had. His head went back and forth, side to side. Yes, he was looking around. Could there be anohter being in such a place as this? He looked to the left. Movement! Yes, I see it! Another being such as me.......No. His imagination from wondering so long was getting to him. Of course that was not another creature such as himself. Poseidon had not seen a stallion or a mare in so long, he was starting to wonder if he would ever see one again. Of course deep down, he knew that he would. There were so many others like himself, Poseidon was bound to find another. It was only a matter of time. The snow beneathe his hooves would slowly melt, as he would just stand in one spot before moving forward again, only to look back and see the ground freeze again as he did move forward, and the thick frozen air would go back to the slow water that had formed from the heat of Poseidon's body. Body heat. Oh how Poseidon had missed the warmth of someone else close to him, one that he could trust and even love. He longed for this once again, for hours on end he would just imagine how it would be to find that one spouse, to love and be with you forever, by his side, to help rule the lands of all. "SNAP OUT OF IT" Poseidon yelled out loud to himself. " It is just nonsense to keep dreading on what should not happen" but inside, he kept wondering, what if that could happen, even just for a day.......
Poseidon looked around and felt the cold ground on his hooves. He had been wondering around for days, not knowing really what to do. "This is Stupid" he thought to himself. "Why am I here. I don't even really know what I am looking for. This place is not where I wanted to just start looking for a small group." Poseidon, who had not been in any group at all, who had always been a wonderer, was trying to find others to join. Being by himself for all the four years of his life had not been the greatest. What he had always wanted was some sort of company, even if it was just so he could get what he wanted. But for some reason, no matter where he went, there would never be another being that would follow him, or let him follow them. " Maybe this time will be different. Think of things as a new start this time. Positive thinking for myself is what I need. But now is just a matter of me actually doing that." The air was getting colder as he said those words out loud. He knew that there wasn't a soul around, except maybe a smaller animal close by. Then again, who knew, maybe there was another being like him around. Another child from the creator. Are there others just wondering around like himself, or hunters looking for another one to just take out so they themselves would be able to move closer to the plans they had in store. Poseidon the terrenus walked on, and just kept a path that went straight on to wherever the lands would take him. "If only the perfect small group would come along, and then the plans we would create together would unfold, and then I could take over and be the perfect leader, and rule over all" The four year old stallion talked out loud to himself, not knowing that it wasn't inside his head that those words flowed out of. What would come of this land, this new start. Only time would tell......

Crunch, crunch, crunch. Each rounded hoof engraved in the snow it's own unique mark, imprinting one with every step. A path of nearly perfect crescents trailed behind as if scurrying to catch up with their maker; a crime many could rightfully be accused of. Up ahead, Aaleyah moved forward at a steady pace, disregarding the growing roar of the wind that flowed over the tops of the mountains that protruded from the horizon. A few blankets of white snow tumbled down a mountain in the distance; far away enough to be well out of it's range, but near enough to hear it's mighty rumble and powerful impact. Her icy-blue gaze shifted towards the sudden disaster which from here seemed as harmless as the pine forest that surrounded her. She stopped, leggy pillars becoming motionless, and took a moment to look upon what was only one of Nature's demonstrations of her power. Aaleyah had seen worse, much worse, surely, in the plus decade that she'd been living. The ability of flight granted her every desire to go any place she wished, anywhere in the world at any time. It was one of the most insightful and enriching experiences one could ever have. Flying exposed everything. Nothing could hide. Yet there are some things that are better left in the dark.
Spending only a minute to observe, Aaleyah again moved forward at her ground covering, yet relaxed, pace. It never stopped baffling her; the force that Mother Nature had, no matter how big or small the act may be. Suddenly, a delicate aud swiveled towards her left. Her sensitive ears had learned to pick up the slightest of out-of-place sounds, no matter where she was or the distractions that were about her. Her long neck followed, turning towards the left. It was done with such simple beauty, such effortless grace it would surely make any bystander falter in their step. Large, yet attractive, ears were pricked forward as she stared in the direction from where the sound had come. Aaleyah exhaled deeply through her velvety maw, the two fluffy white clouds that were produced seemed to be sent from Heaven itself. It was a rare thing for Aaleyah to doubt her senses, and this time was no exception. It had clearly been the voice of another. True, she could not make out the exact words which had been spoken, but the voice almost seemed...irritated? Was that word she was looking for? Yes...yes, irritated, perhaps. Or even frustrated. From her experience, she knew their was no real trouble, no danger that this currently bodiless voice was in. It was entirely curiousity that motivated her towards the voice. She was both prone and weak to it, a necessary yet occasionally dangerous thing, considering her "hobby". Crunch, crunch, crunch. Yet another branch of telltale evidence of her presence was left. Just as she suspected (knew, really), the owner of the rather aggravated voice was only a short distance away from where she had been standing. Trusting her keen senses as always, Aaleyah saw the stallion she had been expecting to see. And he was a big one. He had a heavy sort of draft build, with feathers and the like, donning a two-toned black and white coat. A terrenus, she suspected. Maybe a Pondus, but she favored her first thought. He seemed a little lost. A little grin played at the tips of her maw, one clearly of friendly sympathy. I'd better see what I can do, she decided, walking on to make her appearance. Aaleyah ducked through the frosted pines, being an Aer of decent height. Finally she broke through to the other side, now standing in the clearing with the probable Terrenus. Her feathery wings had knocked a few branches around, dumping snow upon them. Aaleyah ached to stretch and shake them, to rid herself of such an annoyance, yet she restrained herself, keeping them folded neatly on her back. It seemed her large, err, 'additions' intimmidated some others who were not quite prepared for it. The gray mare now stood before him, a startling contrast from the emerald forest that she had emerged from. And yet with her light colored coat she seemed perfectly at home in this harsh tundra climate. Truthfully, her worldly travels allowed her to adapt to any climate, though she preferred the more temperate of them.
With a smile that caused most to stare, she spoke.
"If I were to believe that you were lost, would I be correct in assuming so?"
Her words flowed with such beauty it was almost as if she were singing. Her luxurious, full tail fluttered in the gentle breeze that came through, practically invisible against the snow covered ground beneath her. The breeze momentarily ruffled the feathers of her matching wings, but she gave it no mind. Beautiful aqua colored eyes stared into the stranger's before her, filled with paitence as she awaited his response. She had all the time in the world.

"See? Wishfull thinking does get you somewhere, just be positive" this tiny voice inside Poseidon's mind had said to him. This annoyance that had come to him often, was now telling him what he himself would not tell himself. Most the time he would just shake his head and get rid of it, but there were other times when it was just a little different..... The voice was always nice and positive. Poseidon had hated it, there were a few times when he had no choice but to agree with the voice. This, was one of those times. "Don't pay attention to that voice. Its only a coinsidence that this beautiful creature, this majestic and wonderus mare, came upon these lands and walked the path I have been walking and now stubbled onto me" Poseidon tried to convense himself that this wasn't because of fate. There was no purpose for the mare to find him. He had not found the mare, so therefore he didn't know how to approach this situation. "This mare seems nice, but it could be a trick... her voice was so alluring. So attractive. I am being almost drawn into her...." Thoughts he could not control had started to enter Poseidon's mind, so to keep from saying out loud words that he knew would escape him soon, he had no choice now but to speak.
" I could be a little lost, or I could just not be lost at all and be just going on a journey for which I don't even know of yet." seeing as how this didn't make to much sense, he started to think he would rub off the wrong way. It was only because of the fact that Poseidon had not talked to a soul sense he was around his parents, which was much to long ago.... What was he to say? How was he to act? This would all have to come back to him, and soon. If only the mare might understand why Poseidon was so weary, almost to the point of being skitish..... I am Poseidon. Named after the Lord of the Sea. Do you have a purpose here? I can't be to suspecious of others you know. With now adays being as they are. He spoke those words veary clearly, and so loud that they echoed into the wind. Poseidon didn't realize how sturdy those words were untill he felt his body shake. His words made the air by his mouth warm and then smoke like air came out of his mouth from the air being to cold and thick, and the body heat was now starting to get to him....
Poseidon was almost scarred. He wasn't sure what to do. This could either turn out good, or bad. He was worried about the second option turning into reality pretty soon. The fear of an avalanch coming along his way wasn't helping him out either. It sure was easy to spot his being worried about a lot of things at once. The fact that an avalanch had just happend far away, well it was far away but seemed all too close to Poseidon, had made him a little bit ancy, and he moved his weight back from one side to another twice before becoming still again. The question he now had in his mind, which he muttered under his breath without realizing it was, " What am I to do now? Where did my confidence go that I had just a few minutes ago?...... The movement that he had was all gone. Still, was the air between him and the mare. The tension he had created was so much thicker than before and the nervousness he had was becoming larger. Now was the time for some kind of easeness for him to arrive. But when? And how? All answers that were sure to be figured out soon.....

Aaleyah stomped one of her forelegs into the deep snow, causing tiny little pieces of ice to scatter about and tickle her lower leg. There was truthfully no motive behind it; simply an old habit. Certainly no pests of the insect sort could survive in this climate. Despite this fact, she did it anyway. She was terribly good at picking up new habits, including ones she'd rather pass on. Unfortunately, she was not nearly as good at ridding herself of them. Almost immediately, Aaleyah quietly scolded herself on the inside. Now, really, my dear. You've been living for over a decade. Surely you know the basic rules of etiquette, do you not? Although the action was small and probably passed by unnoticed, the simple gesture could, at times, be a sure sign of impaitence or irritation, neither of which she was feeling now. Aaleyah began to grimace at the realization, but expertly masked it before the painted stallion could take note of it. Yet another of Aaleyah's long-lived habits: over analyizing everything.
Thankfully, the stallion began to speak, bringing Aaleyah back to reality. The mare had not been impaitent with him, by any means, though he seemed to take his time before responding to her. At least responding to her vocally. He stood there for quite awhile, just staring at her. She could hardly blame him. It was as if she appeared from thin air. Although there was someting odd in his expression, his body language. The muscles beneath his coat were taught, which clearly meant he was feeling on edge. And his eyes. Widening by the minute. They seemed almost nervous, yet not quite afraid. Aaleyah blinked, wondering what the story behind this one was. With her age and vast experience with wanderers and loners came wisdom, and it was obvious to a trained eye such as her's that there was a perfectly good reason for his anxiety. Hopefully I can be of some help.
She listened to his words, locking eyes with him again. The mare smiled warmly.
"Indeed, it could be either. I was simply wondering if my accusation was right."
She paused, before speaking again, deciding to push the matter.
"Am I?"
In no way did she come off as being pushy, but Aaleyah could be quite persistant when she wanted to. He spoke his name to her.
"Poseidon..." She repeated quietly, which helped her remember names at a later time. Hey, when you've traveled the world and have lived for over a hundred years, a name or two might slip your mind occasionally. Again, she grinned at him. "Ruler of the Sea, eh? Not a bad title."
The smile left her face as he asked her purpose here, and she became serious. She hadn't been offended, it just seemed to be an important matter. She shook her head.
"No, I come here with naught a purpose. Not exactly. I enjoy travel and try to do it as often as possible. So I was out doing what I love to when I thought I heard someone. Naturally, my curiousity got the better of me. And low and behold, here we are."
Aaleyah stopped for a moment, silence taking over. A faint smile tugged at her lips. 'I can't be too suspicious of others, with now adays being as they are.' If only he knew. If only he knew of her powers and what she used them for. Yet Aaleyah did not speak of it. It was a rare thing for her to share such personal information with a stranger, even though it could do no real harm. To be frank, she just felt it was unneccesary.
"I cannot say that I blame you for being suspicious, and to an extent am glad that you are. But, please, do not feel that you have any reason to distrust me."
Auds pricked forward as Poseidon muttered something under his breath. Being this near to the stallion, Aaleyah could easily pick up every word he said.
"I was actually hoping I could help you out with that, if you'd like. The 'what to do now' part, I mean."The dappled mare laughed softly.
Not being able to stand the biting pain of the concentrated cold on her back any longer, she finally gave way and sprung out her wings, stretching and shaking them. She audibly sighed in relief, eyes closing with pleasure. Icy eyes turned back upon him, feeling much more comfortable now.
'Oh, forgive me, I've yet to tell you my name. My, I've been acting quite rude, haven't I? Aaleyah."

Poseidon watched the mare very carefully, trying to find out how she would analyze him. She seemed to be not afraid, not impatient, but calm. Calm and gracefull with every movement she took. Poseidon was a big horse, and not very gracefull at all. any movement he had made, you would certainly have seen. And the muttering under his breathe, he knew he had a problem doing this a lot, and was hoping he would not do this on such a suprising occasion. This was not expected, but wanted, now wanted YES. Finally some sort of contact outside his own head. The talking to himself, that kept him sane. The only thing that really kept him sane. Now there was another creature such as himself, one to talk to. As long as he didn't seem to.....what is the word.... anxious. Is that it? Yes. He had wanted this for so long, now he was just anxious to see how this would work out for him. How things would turn out, now that he was not so alone. The fact that the mare was so beautiful and made to perfection, well that just made things better for him. In a certain way, it was not better, but infact harder, for it made it more of a challenge for him to analyze what to do or say next. Soon enough, while standing there waiting to see what would indeed happen, the cold air and avalanche that had happend left his mind. Now all that was in his head, all he could think about, was what was right infront of him. Forget the past, and what the future might turn out to be, only think of right now, right at this moment, what is happening. This, is what he did for a few split minutes.
"To answer your question you first asked, No I am NOT lost. I am just on a journey." Poseidon had not known for sure if he was really lost or not. He just figured if he was lost, he would know it. But truthfully, he had not known if he knew where he was at. So in reality, yes, he was lost. But to his brain, and that voice inside his head, he was on a journey that only time could tell where he was headed and what he was going to be doing. "and you are correct. Ruler of the Sea is not a bad title. In fact, it is the Best Title you could have for a stallion." He seemed a little on edge still, so to try to become less tense he made the decision to try and seem more confident in himself. He knew that His title was the best. In his mind, he would not meet another male with a better title than his own, so by telling the mare this, he had hoped that it would let her know that he was not afraid, but intrigued and wanted to keep conversations going. He liked this mare, and loved how he was being drawn in. Wether she had meant to or not. "Travel huh? Yeah, I do a lot of that too. Not exactly for fun, but it can be at times I suppose. And I am glad that you did come along. I would have had the curiousity get the better of me too. It's hard not to go where you wish to when you never know how it would turn out. It is better to go and see what would happend than to regret it later on." The more he talked to her, and the more he had heard her voice, the more he was confident in himself again, the more he felt like, yes, there is a reason I can keep moving forward and go on to get my goals. And maybe even the dreams of finding......he stopped thinking about that one. That dream was not to be braught up while by a mare. Sure, he had not known if this mare he would want to go after like that, but even the thought of a maybe, would be to dangerous for him. It was just easiest to push it out and not think of it untill back by himself. (where he didn't want to be)
"You have not given me a reason to distrust you. and for some reason, if I may be honest, I feel as if I have known that I can trust you, and be accepted as a friend and not an enemy of mine" He wasn't sure how that would turn out or how the mare would be taking it, but the feeling that tugged at his stomach told him he could say most of what he was thinking, and she would know how to take it. The mare then at that moment said she could help Poseidon at the what to do now part. "Great, she thinks she can help me now, she just met me and she thinks that all will be well because she is here." this thought came to his head only because he was afraid again. He wasn't sure what she had meant by saying that to him, and he did not know if the risk of finding out was worth it.
WINGS Came out from basically nowhere from Aaleyah and Posiedon backed up more than just a few steps.
I haven't seen anything like this before. The only other creatures such as myself I have ever seen were like me, not any real powers or......abnormalities I guess you would call this.
"Aaleyah. Well, what a nice name. SO I guess those wings just came attached to you?" Poseidon wasn't trying to seem mean, but this came to more than a bit of a suprise to him, and he wasn't sure how to handle it. Now this situation became a lot more confusing and alarming to him....he just hoped he hadn't been to obvious with the look of being mad and a little upset when she said she could help. He wasn't used to help, and the actions that were taking place would take a bit for him to take all in......and taking it in not badly or wrongly would be a bit hard after everything that had happend before meeting her, and now the wings part.........the wings made him more intemidated.....

Having mastered the perfect poker face, Aaleyah kept her amused smile in check. It seemed, judging by the creeping irritation in his voice, that she had hit a nerve. Not that she was at all surprised. It was like this way with practicaly every stallion. It was only upon rare occasion that she'd manage to bump into one who would appreciate her offer of help or even admit that they needed it, even though it was almost always painfully clear that they did. Another macho man, huh? Aaleyah thought, large aqua pools narrowing only slightly, doubtfully seen by Poseidon. Was there really all that shame in taking another's assistance when you needed it? That, considering the sacrifices, time and effort she put into doing this very duty, not only offended the mare herself but her way of giving back to others. Aaleyah's thick tail flicked out, causing a sharp swishing sound. Of course, Poseidon was not the first to act this way, but it aggravated her nonetheless. Aaleyah resisted the urge to roll her eyes. They're all the same.
"Ah, a journey is it? My mistake then. I meant no harm."
Not a hint of her brewing emotions inside seeped into her words. Her calm misdemeanor remained. Aaleyah had become a pro at masking her real feelings, though she only did it in situations such as this. At any other time or during any other scenario, Aaleyah would not have hesitated to voice herself. She had no problem speaking her mind. Aaleyah didn't reply to his comment about his 'title'. She smiled politely, but her expertise made it look genuine. Again Poseidon spoke. He certainly seemed to be enjoying himself, and he definitely had started to relax around her. Aaleyah wondered what it was that intimmidated others about her. Her height? She was a little on the tall side. The wings? Yeah, that could be pretty shocking for some. But really? Was it that terrible? Aaleyah was sure this had something to do with the once nervous stallion's behavior, but he almost acted as if he hadn't spoken to anyone in quite some time. He did say he was on journey...maybe it was a long one.
"I agree. Take what chances you have. The worst regrets are opportunities you don't pursue," she nodded, feeling the same way. Aaleyah adored travel. She simply loved seeing new places, meeting others. For the majority of her immortal life, Aaleyah roamed the world. However, lately she felt she needed something else to complete her life. As much as she tried to ignore the thought, she knew it would be time soon to find a herd and settle down. But there's plenty of time until I have to worry about that, she told herself, running away from the inevitable again. "You mentioned you don't like travel and yet here you are. Would it be too personal a question to ask why you're here? By that I mean, why does your journey take you to an avalanche prone mountainside?" Truly, Aaleyah was only curious though it probably came off as prying. Either way, she asked it.
At first, Aaleyah felt badly for her sudden motion. It was uncalled for and quite surprising. Obviously it had spooked Poseidon. She opened her mouth to apologize profously, meaning every word she was about to say, when he made that comment. Aaleyah's mouth clamped shut and her eyes narrowed; this time, much more noticably. Auds swiped back, and it had nothing to do with the snow that had picked up tickling her ears. That was one thing you didn't want to criticize Aaleyah for. Her wings were more dear to her than anything else in the world. They gave her flight. They showed her the world. They are responsible for the amazing sights, sounds and experiences that fill her life. And he dares to insult them? Address them as if they were a mutation? A freak of Nature? Aaleyah could hold her tongue for the greater good for a lot of things, but this was not one of them.
"It would seem that way, wouldn't it?" The dapple gray mare began, sarcasam practicaly dripping from her voice. "And how else would I have come by these, oh, Mr. 'Lord of the Sea'? Mutilating a freakishly large dove?" Her voice itself remained calm and low key. The mare kept his gaze steady, never once breaking eye contact. That always seemed to get to them. Aaleyah used her expert knowledge on body language not only for earning trust. It was completely unfair to her. She had been nothing but kind, and now this? Aaleyah was a compassionate and sympathetic mare, but was not about to let this slide.

Poseidon was back to being nervous, yet he still had to look at Aaleyah. Her beautiful texture, the way her mane and tail just swayed at any winds that happend to come by. The snow had picked up a bit, and the ground was becoming colder, as the air thickend with tension between the stallion and the mare. He knew it would only take a little time to irritate this mare. All mares get so emotional and picky about what you say to them. The voice was back into his head. Inside his thoughts and the feeling of being angry at himself for listening to it was back at being near the tip of his tongue. Hold your tongue Poseidon he told himself. Yet even with him saying it to himself, holding his tongue was easier to say than to do. It wasn't as if Poseidon knew about her wings. Some type of warning would have been a little nice. Even still, it would have intemidated him yes. But easing him into that situation would have helped a little and wouldn't have been SO shocking.
Aaleyah spoke of meaning no harm when talking about him being on a journey. A light seemed to have dawned on him, and he decided to open up his mind and know the truth. Which was...... He was indeed lost. There was no one around, EVER. He just wandered off, and now did not have a single CLUE where he was heading. He knew he probaly could use her help. But the number one rule for a stallion was, do not ask for directions. (OOC: as for men) and especially from a mare you start to take a liking to. Poseidon figured it was time to tell her the truth. He knew it wouldn't hurt his situation after everything now..... "I am lost. I just hate to say it. It is stupid and nonsense and I didn't think it would make matters any better if I said I was lost." What good would come from these words, He had no idea. But the shot was not going to do any harm. SO why not? It seemed like Aaleyah only meant to help. Yet getting help never was easy for Poseidon. Then again, it wasn't like he ever got into the position to ask anyone else for help. There was only himself....
"I am on this avalanche prone mountain side because, well, I wondered off and here is where I have landed myself. I just like to believe that I am on a journey and not lost, because, well, it just makes me more comfortable and helps me to move forward. Why would someone such as yourself be here at this mountain? If I may ask." manners came back to him, rushing in all at once. Offending her was not what he had wanted, but it happend, and now all he could do was hope that any past experience with being nice to others would come back in some type of form. This form was just to come giving him a headache as he thought of how to make this any better. Without saying sorry. He would mean it a little, but would still feel as if it really wasn't his fault at all, and he knew that his would show on his face. Masking his feelings or thoughts was not his strong suit, so why even try is what he has always thought.
The dapple gray mare spoke to him in an angry tone, which started to make Poseidon more anxious to move, but then he calmed down. If I am to make this better, I need to be calm and not on the edge of my seat this whole time. Think things through, and be more confident. Things get done better if you don't be such a woose! Poseidon thought to himself, and the voice for once did not oppose this thought. It stayed away, but he knew that it was still there and would come up on the wrong moment. Poseidon knew he had to keep strong if he wanted to keep this mare here. He needed the mare, to help him through, and to help make him not so alone anymore. Maybe Poseidon would even get his own voice back and not be such a chicken anymore about the voice. He would get his own voice back and no longer listen to this imaginery thing that didn't even really have such control over him as he thought. "I didn't mean to make you so upset over that comment. It was just that you gave me no warning, and it was not like I just see someone everyday with wings, or anything that really stands out like that. How do others take that? Suprised, or just calm like, oh that happens all the time. It is normal. I would think just like me. A little suprised. I didn't mean any harm in what I said. You just have to give me a chance to know that I am not just seeing things or going crazy, you know?" Poseidon had hoped that what he said would make sense, and let her see his side of view on this one. He knew that most mares were stubborn and didn't like to see how he reacts to things such as this, but he thought the chance he could take. It wasn't like the situation between the two were going to get any worse now. Screwing up was easy to do, but fixing it, Poseidon knows this will take a little time to do. "Do you know how you got them? Can I know? I have a bit of curiousity in me, and I think this story would be good. and I don't mean that in a bad way either." He spoke to Aaleyah in a nice tone, hoping she caught that he wasn't being rude by asking, he was just wandering. He was no longer scared, but intrigued. Now, all he had to do was keep this confidence, and the memories of how to talk to another such as yourself.
