Long had war ravaged the land. Long had its subjects fallen, their loved ones cried. The war raged for years... the final battle, for weeks, and the craze after Sage's death, for six days. Six days in which the land of Terra had no ruler... six days for kingdoms to fall to bickering, murder, and the lust for power. Six days for the gods to decide for themselves who would rule Terra, mortals be damned.
But gods, too, are not perfect. While their children fought below, so too did they fight above. Each of the five had his or her own opinion of how the new world should be ruled, and none could come to terms with another. Their battle became just as vicious as the one raging below: a tireless battle of unworldly might, immortal on immortal.
It was futile.
Exhausted and angered from their efforts, the gods came to an agreement: a distrusting pact between the five to withdraw from the war and allow their subjects to decide its end for themselves.
But those with power never desist.
Each of them went behind the others' backs to appoint warriors of their own, with powers far above the abilities of mortal equine: warriors who stood for the beliefs of their godly benefactor and fought to see them through... and to lead one of their faction to the seat of high power over all of Terra.
