These lands of beauty and strength are not a place to stumble without prior thoughts, my dear, for here only those deemed worthy may survive. But is that not as it should be? Those unworthy cast aside with little more than a laugh? But if deemed worthy, you will find yourself a little peace of heaven here. Want to brave it? Well, there are some rules to follow.
I, the leadess, am in charge here and no-one, I tell you, can change that. If I find a suitable stallion to take as my lead, which is unlikely, he will be but a notch lower than me.
Respecting your betters is of huge importance here, and those of disrespect may find themselves in a position noone would like to be in. I have my methods of punishment.
If you are told to something, you do it, unless punishment is what you seek.
None breed here without asking my permission, for that in itself is a sin.
The ranks are simple, and go like this,
Queen: The lead mare is in charge of everything and the most powerful, infuential equine in the herd. Everyone must obey her.
King: The King is the Queen's chosen mate. He is a protector, and must be obeyed by all but the leadess.
Princesses: Female offspring of the queen.
Princes: Male offspring of the queen.
Betan: An equine close to, and trusted by, the lead mare. She is in charge if the lead pair are gone for some reason, and may influence decisions made by the lead ess. An advisor, in many ways.
Beta: The Betan's mate and very close to the lead stag. He is the male counterpart of the Betan.
Gamman: Third in command and in charge of the working ranks. Commands respect. The powerful ess is in charge is the higher ranks are all missing.
Gamma: Third in command male, and in charge of the working ranks. He, like his mate, commands respect and is in charge is the higher ranks are all missing.
Elders: Older and wiser equines get given this rank of advice on watchfullness.
Lead warrior: In charge of ther herd's warriors and defenders. He is in charge of training and selecting apprentices to become warriors.
Lead recruiter: In charge of the herd's recruiters. He/She is in charge of training, briefing and selecting apprentices to become recruiters.
Nurse: The mare in charge of caring for the herd's young when their mothers must be absent.
Punishers: Powerful equines trained in a way which makes them highly skilled in many ways. Each has their specialty, but may be sent on a variety of missions. Punishers generally fall into three specialties, but there are others: spies, assassins, thieves
High priest/priestess: The top priest/priestess is in charge of the priests and priestesses and expected to organise all religius festivals and ceremonies.
Warriors: These powerful equines are the ones which carry out any attacks the herd wishes to make, and defend the land in the case of attack.
Recruiters: These charismatic equines are the ones which recruit new members to the herd. The often leave herd lands to find new members.
Nurse-in training: The female being trained to take the place of the nurse.
Makais: Punishers in training. The training is rigorous, and not all are destined to survive.
Priests/priestesses: Religious equines who serve under the high priest/priestess and are expected to have an active role in all religious festivals or ceremonies.
Apprentices: Those being trained as warriors or recruiters.
Mares: Normal herd mares.
Stallions: Normal herd stallions.
Foals: Normal herd foals.
Slaves: Those kept simply to be used and humiliated for the amusement of the herd. If you prove useless, expect death.
Banished: Those banished from the herd, never to return on pain of death
Deceased: Those who used to serve in the herd, but are now passed.
Currently, this is how things pan out here,
